Does chess mentor finally work?

Hi,

about two years ago I bought a Platinum or Diamond membership (don't remember) because I was interested in chess mentor. Unfortunately it never worked for me, I always got some strange "AJAX error". This was also reported by other people.

As I did not renew my membership (why should I? The service I paid for was never delivered!), I can no longer write posts in the original thread; even editing my post is blocked (really clever!):

But there was no answer confirming that the problem was finally solved. So can somebody confirm that this service meanwhile really works? I really would be interested in it, but I certainly refuse to pay for something broken *a*second*time*. The fact that there was no final posting from staff that the problem was fixed leaves a bad taste...

I've been here for a few years and it's always worked perfectly for me except for the rare times they're doing maintenance or a server is down.  Then I too got that Ajax thing.  Sorry your experience was different.  There are about 25 free courses that all members can take.  Why not see what happens when you try those?

The problem is that the bug only was present when being logged in.

But aren't you logged in now?

Dog,  I wonder if he has a log in bug on HIS end ??

OK,  I just read post 1.  I two am sorry you had a bad experience but,  "about 2 yrs"  "diamond or platinum"  "you can't remember"      I recommend reserching this with your card company and bank. If you can prove that it was paid for, but NOT delevered, the answer is simple. Chess.com will honor your problem,  OR  contest the charge with your bank to get your money back. If you really want to try it again, pester the billing Dept at chess.com until you get a satisfactory answer. Send it in care of Matt, or Jack1n. Either one are VERY good with billing problems.    Good Luck

Please have a look at the second post on this page (from user Grumbln):

"I'm also having these issues. Unfortunately, upgrading to diamond does not work. However, I can get the mentor to work when I'm not logged in (i.e. playing as a guest)."

This is what I meant. So if I try it out now and it works, this is still no guarantee that it will keep working after I pay for the premium account. Last time I paid, I could have simply burnt the money as well.

I'm not exactly sure I understand what you mean...

I bought a premium account because I wanted to use chess mentor. But this never worked for me. So the service I paid for was not delivered. Of course I _DID_ pay, else I would not have been able to post into the premium section of the forum.

But well. So be it. No sales for chess.com then. I will not take the risk of wasting 99$ a second time. For nothing.
