I need a chess mentor to improve my game but the problem is that I'm 17 no job and I can't pay for one someone you know or someone who wants to train for free?

No sorry. You can get coaches for money but i don't know about for free

There's plenty of material on the internet if you know where to look

I never had a coach.I only had 1 book seriously read when I was just starting out. It's just now that I'm working on my literature. But the one big help that I think helped in my improvement is youtube, particularly kingscrusher. That's all I had as a mentor .Then I started liking Chessnetwork and Chessexplained.Matojellic is a nice channel too if you like short games.

With no job you have TIME to teach yourself.  I suggest:  start with endings and leave opening study until last.

ps.  Review your lost games from time to time, you learn much more from losing a game then you ever do from winning one.
