I was really hoping this was a request for a new dramatic way to resign in frustration.

TheGrobe

But rightly, it would need to be called the Schmidlap.

Elecz

but you can't flip the board in real games...

I find it very relaxing just to stand on my head.  If only my glasses would stop falling off...

Easy solution but not sure if it will help you ......

1) Go to Thrift Store and buy 1-2 chess set(s).

2) Purchase a soda.  ??

3) Find a thirst kid who will do a simple task for the soda.

4) Have kid open up the box and set up the board like on the screen.

5) Do not forget to place the board on a turntable.

6) Want to flip board?  Well have the kid spin the board around 180 degrees.

7) After about 50 games in Chess Mentor the kid is going to be stronger than you in a game. Grrrr!

8) For more games repeat step 2 -6.

9) The kid challeges you to a game and keeps winning. Now no need for Chess Mentor at the moment as he is your Chess Mentor.

10) The kid joins chess.com gets free coaching and catches the eye of an IM chess player and they takes the kid under his wing for free as they saw something special in the kids game.

11) When he writes his first book on kids learning chess he dedicates it to you. Well it has a good ending........

The point! When i first started playing chess we used chess boards and their was no flip board feature. Just the chess set and the book. Hmmm a flip board feature for a chess book? How did the great GM's of the past do without a flip board feature?

koravi

They can !! Why cant they just turn the book to 180 degree ??

I have just performed a miracle right here on my desk. These photos have NOT been doctored.

Tick "show white on bottom"

In tournaments I often walk over to my opponent's side and look at the board from his/her perspective. It seems an obvious feature to be added here. It tends to unnerve them, but it is perfectly legal. :)
