Well I looked at some of your games, and it looks like your simply making mistakes fairly frequently then resigning. I wouldnt recomend resigning unless the position is dead lost at your level. I'm talking about no hope. If your down a knight, dont resign, like I saw in some of your games. Your opponents can make blunders very easily. Also some of your moves just dont make sense to me. Try to play simple, concrete moves that do something. When I was around 1000, I never really studied much, I just played a few games here and there and played in tournaments. I easily got to 1400 this way without studying anything. All I had to do was NOT make mistakes, and play simple good moves. If you don't make mistakes, your opponent cant win.

Also, if your getting upset over it I would take a break. Chess is not a game to play if your mad. You need to be in a good mood, and just enjoy your games.

The biggest thing here is simply not making mistakes. Before every move, make sure your opponent cant take advantage of it and win material/position.

Think more deeply of the move opponents want to make. I actually played against this player in a school chess challenge, and hell, I blocked a check and delivered a check of my own at the same time, and he played a blunder I couldn't understand. Try to focus on checkmate, not on pieces (though that could be good!

I've given you an easy puzzle. No prizes!

I got smashed in my first three games here. (To be honest with you, my score has risen and dropped about 50 a month).

This is a game I played in May (I was black). Look at the mistakes me and my opponent made and try not to make them yourself. I love the way I finished this game though. This game has since been used to teach other juniors how you should NOT to play the opening and how to find powerful attacks in the middle game, so it might be able to help you. Look through it and try to see why the mistakes are mistakes. At the level you're at you and your opponents will probably similar mistakes.  (This is analysis of the Crafty engine and myself; it could be wrong!)

Alex. I'm going to help you every week with your chess games. We'll improve togethe. Let me know your schedule and we'll do a couple hours on the phone and we'll get you playing better and I'll tell you some things I know and vice versa. We'll get it together. I have plenty of games to go through and we'll play some over the phone. Just keep reading; keep studying: keep playing and we'll try to learn some mating nets and what not. Pick a day of the week you want to  do this unless for some reason if I have a doctor's appointment or it's mother's day. You pay this mother and that mother. I'm getting ready to get off of here. You make sure you bowl a strike.  John Moyer,

I think most people do other things then chess go to bed at night (10 hours) feed ourselves (2 hours) get out to the shops of something (1 hour) watch a bit of tv (1 hour) do all the chores you have to do (30 minutes average) get outside do and do stuff (1 hour) I probably missed some stuff but that leaves only 8.5 hours left in the day which is basically the whole day Side note: I think most people go to school and/or work during the day so you must not have a job or go to school
