tatics trainer

could anyone give me some advice to improve my tatic trainer level? im on house arrest and i play 5 hours  every day and have for the last 3 weeks but i cant seem to get past 1100 ?? could anyone help me improve?

You're a diamond member.  Check out GM Wolff's "Champion Tactics" series on the Chess Mentor.  He has courses on all the tactical motifs, the usual forks and pins but also more advanced stuff like interference and xrays and more importantly: how to set up tactics in your own games.  The TT is fine (although I'm not a big fan of the timer), but how are you going to find tactics if you don't know what to look for?  Just my 2 cents...

I think that the main thing is to take your time. Keep studying the position until you are positive or very close to positive you have the right answer, even if the time is running out.   There is a big penalty for guessing.

Don't ever guess.. calculate!! Next thing, Calculate all of the forcing variations first.. look for possible checks ect..
