I'm starting to play d4 and I'm looking for good openings to start! Any recommendations other than Queen's Gambit and London System? Thanks for the help happy.png

The Stonewall Attack...

it's relatively straightforward and  "easy" to learn compared to other 1.d4 openings....a good opening to learn prior to learning the London System.

Another interesting one would be the Trompowsky Attack....also relatively straightforward...

Also the Colle System, particularly the Colle-Zukertort variation...

all of the above are interesting.

Try the London system or other similar systems

Queens Gambit is Great, but you have to know the theory which you would eventually know. Don't try London, Colle etc.

I like the London, but from my  view another super choice is the d4 keep it simple repertoire of sielecky in chessable, a g3, Cf6, 00, anda later c4 system in a lot of lines, quite simplified and well explained,  that would be my choice

Trompowsky --- it's fun, aggressive and has a tendency to surprise some 1. Nf6 players

How about just offering a draw before playing 1.D4 and save some time? 1.E4 - best by test!

It is also important to know some responds as black. Popular responses are the Kings Indian defence, the pirc, nimzo-Indian defense and Old benoni defense

Also the Catalan is a fun and sharp line you could play
