10 best/worst for white and black
That list is definitely wrong. Phildor's Defense is defnitely better than Nimzovich Defense. Blackmar-Diemer Gambit is definitely over-rated. Anderssen opening is underrated. The extra a3 can be veryuseful when playing reversed openings line the Two Knight's Defense.
Since I am better with Black, I'll give the Best for Black list...
1) Sicilian Defense
2) Nimzo-Indian Defense
3) Modern Defense
4) Queen's Indian Defense
5) Alekhine Defense
6) King's Indian Defense
7) Pirc Defense
8) French Defense
9) Caro-Kann Defense
10) Phildor's Defense
Surprisingly, All 10 are named "Defense"...

[...]So obv these 2700+ patzers who regularly play the Berlin Defense have no clue, since it cannot be found in your "specialized" list

What delusion. Make your way a bit further up the heirachy of chess players before stating with certainty which openings are better or claiming you're a specialist with either colour.
Hey, I meant "I am better with black than white" and I have not included Berlin Defense simply because I can not see any advantage for either black or white. I mean, look at the stats! 40% draws?
Make your way a bit further up the heirachy of chess players before stating with certainty which openings are better
Well, I'd say you tell that to tinman. Petroff Defense is bad eh?
Hey,my list was the "best for black" and some people will be swearing if I put 16 openings in a list meant for 10. It was the "Best for black" and not the "Only good openings for black".
The best openings are the ones which do not let you blunder, positionally or tactically, right after your "theory" ends. Sadly enough, such openings do not exist at all.
Yes. Exactly. But if someone can prepare till the king vs king drawn position, then that will be the best opening...

People should realise that with chess being as complex as it is there is a huge variety of plans a player may choose that are just as good as one another.
As a result any list as short as ten is bound to either be too broad to offer any real information (best defences to 1.e4: 1..e5, 1..c5, 1..e6, 1..c6 etc) or narrow to the point of excluding legitimate candidates: from the top of my head I could come up with 10 exceptional lines against e4, and another 10 equally good one's that did not make it onto the contrained list.
That said, above attempts at creating a list are simply bad.
Hail great Godlike!!! That is exactly correct. Openings cannot be bad or good unless they include a mistake as in Damiano Defence (wonder why it is called so). By the way, Damiano's Gambit is really satisfying to play as I think I am "rewarding" black for his mistake.

You cannot simply create a list of opening that are "good". Everyone has their own playstyle and just because someone deems an opening "good" doesn't mean someone else will use it correctly. For black, it's even more complicated. Sure, the sicilian is a great opening, but it only works against King's pawn. Can you rank that against, for example, the Falkbeer countergambit which is a defense against the King's gambit? Each is good for their own situations, and you can't say one is better or worse than another.

In my opinion, these are equally good for both sides
1.Stonewall Attack
2.King's Indian Attack
3.King's Gambit
4.Queen's Gambit
5.2 Knights Attack
6.Berlin Defense
7.Sicilian Attack
8.Caro-Kann Attack
9.Small Center Defense
10.Capturing the opponent's Queen and getting yours captured in the process (Queen's Crippler)
A crippler is an attack that (for example , you capture opponent's black bishop with your bishop just to get yours captured too its a good ol' fair trade)
The March 2017 issue of Chess lists the top twenty openings compiled from a list of 1795 January games where both players were rated over 2400 Elo. One can not take position on this list too seriously because it is greatly influenced by how the openings are grouped. For example, all the Retis are grouped together, while English is separated into 1...c5, 1...e5, etc. Nevertheless, for what it is worth, some of the list entries are: 107 Retis, 89 Caro-Kanns, 87 King's Indians, 72 Najdorf Sicilians, 71 Nimzo-Indians, 65 Slavs, 46 1...c5 Englishes, 44 Classical Gruenfelds, 42 Queen's Indians, 40 1...Nf6 Englishes, 39 Taimanov Sicilians, 37 declined Queen's Gambits, 36 Kan Sicilians, 31 1...e6 Englishes, 31 Italians, 31 Semi-Slavs, and 28 Catalans

It can lead to an underpromotion trap reminiscent of the Lasker Trap (of Albin Countergambit fame), though, as I learned today (I was playing Black and won )
1. d4 d5 2. e4 dxe4 3. f3 Nc6 4. c3 e5 5. d5 exf3 6. dxc6 f2+ 7.Ke2 fxg1=N+ (in my game there followed 8.Rxg1 Bg4+ 0-1).

Also for best opening for black, we have Robatsch Defense at 3 and Modern Defense at 8. I wonder what is the difference between these openings. As far as I know, both of them are same
