Are there any openings where white plays 1.e4 and 2.f4? (not King's gambit) After all, this does control the centre squares.

eg. 1.e4 c5 2.f4

1.e4 c5 2.f4 is a tricky system for both sides. 2...Nc6 leads to a more solid game, while 2...d5 is a well-known pawn sacrifice. Extensive theory here.
