Aggressive positional openings

If you want aggressive you can go into the scotch gambit and maybe get into the max Lange attack, the Morphy attack, haxo gambit, etc. If you want a more positional approach in the scotch gambit then play the mainline, it can get exciting sometimes. If you do not like gambits then play the scotch, plain and simple.

A Strategic Chess Opening Repertoire for White by IM John Watson (2012), Playing 1.d4 by Lars Schandorff (2012), The Kaufman Repertoire for Black & White by GM Larry Kaufman (2012), and A Cunning Chess Opening Repertoire for White by Graham Burgess (2013). I think Watson, Schandorff, and Kaufman advocated 1 d4 d5 2 c4 e6 3 Nc3 Nf6 4 cxd5 exd5 5 Bg5, while Burgess advocated 1 d4 d5 2 Nf3 Nf6 3 c4 e6 4 Nc3 Be7 5 Bf4.

Catalan openings often end up with white sacking a pawn for a pure positional edge in the position.... even if black doesnt try to hold onto the pawn you can really get nice position out of the opening.

I would highly recommend the Scandinavian Defense. This opening gives White plenty of opportunities to make strong positional moves

Yeah, I'm a beginner and used to almost exclusively play the Catalan. It can get very positional (but I'm not much of a positional player, so I had to drop it because I never knew what to do).
