Who is Michael Francis Stean? Why did he play 24. ... f5? instead of 24. ... Rf8? I can't understand this kind of moves...

It is hard to say weather this sac is completely sound or not, but it has been played many times before and is quite theoretical, so I would say white is probably getting enough compensation. You must learn the critical lines though if you are to play this with either colour. If I still played the Bg5 Najdorf as white, I would prefer 10.Bd3, preparing to bring the rook to e1 and threaten a thematic Nd5 sac. This slightly more restrained approach seems better IMO.
