Umm...Scandinavian Defense, Advanced Pin Variation?
I have no idea. First time I have seen anything like this. What an awkward mess. Pretty interesting and amusing though.
Any name for this oppening offense and defense?

Ah got you now Tony, fair point but I reckon black is Ok and a5 will eventually make some room for the bishop plus it's bearing nicely on d4. There are plenty of lines in the Giuoco Piano for example where the B is tucked away on a7 doing nothing for most of the early part of the game.
If there isn't a well-known name for an opening, there's generally a good reason for it

I might be wrong but here I think black is better. White wasted a lots of pawn moves. Surely he gained space on the center, but this is a typical french defence, which is well known and give good results for black. Usually black doesn't gave an advance of developpement and has to attack the center but here he got two pieces for one.
I think a5 here for black is a winning move. white can't keep his pawn chain, due to the pin of the a pawn. black then continue by attacking in the center with c5, which is the typical plan in the french.
I don't know if it's a win, but black is definitely better I think
A french transposition, but where Black's light squares bishop is actually 'good'!?
6...Bb4+ just looks like a terrible blunder -- a patzer check if there ever was one... Is 6...c5 playable? I think it's Black's best -- I don't play French D, but that c5 push is very French D, isn't it?
You know, on second thought... it's interesting... I still think that 6...Bb4+ is bad, but I don't like the continuation... 7.c3 Ba5 8.b4?! b4 gives Black a way out with an eventual a5, and I actually think when it all shakes out White is the one with weak pawns in that line (although it would take a lot of analysis to really prove that)...
What about 6...Bb4+?! 7.c3 Ba5 8.Nd2 (8...c5? 9.Nb3!)
