u should not rely on traps. It's best to outplay ur opponent with sound strategy.
For instance my beginners are in awe of the Queen's powers and move it out early. if ur opponent likes moving the Queen ( or another piece ) early and often, u should be able to have more pieces in the fray, by developing and applying pressure to his / her position. Soon you will dictate play and have a winning type game.
Sitting back, in the hopes your opponent falls into a trap is almost never done by good players.
Hey, I frequently play the Kings pawn opening as white and black and I like the game as Ruy lopez, Italian game and the Fried Liver Attack which all come from that opening. Since many people play that and its a good opening, i wanted to ask if there are any good trapping lines in this line/variation which can trap my average opponents (900-1000).
