e5 because I don’t enjoy symmetry and don’t know the boat loads of theory that my opponents would prepare.
As an e4 player, what do you hate to play against

I think mostly KID players play the horse to try and get a KID style position out of 1.e4.

Anything closed or non confrontational. I like sharp, dynamic play.
French, Caro, etc. Although I've improved my repertoire to tackle these two with better success.
I love playing against 2.d6 Sicillians but don't like playing against 2.Nc6 sicillians, especially when they go down the like 1.e4 c5 2.nf3 nc6 3.d4 cxd4 4.nxd4 e5 5.nb5 line... I like targeting the weak d pawn but I often find the play a bit dull too.

just play 2.nf3 then?

just play 2.nf3 then?
You wanna hear something hilarious? I never thought to just do this.

some random dubous opening where you put your pawns on e6 and d6 with your knights where the pawns once were where your opponent is playing waiting moves hoping you would castle so they can attack your kingside.

Modern defence. Actually I hated facing it so much with white that I started using it with black, and have had excellent results so far.

Anything open or confrontational. I don’t like to take risks (which is why I stopped playing 1.e4) but when I did play e4 my least favorite opening to play against was just 1…e5.

Love the modern defense. Unfortunately I can only play one opening against e4 in a single game. You can get away with a lot of stuff in the modern- had a game v a 2100 otb where I played Ra7 in the opening and I equalized.
