Attack Vs. Dutch Defense?

I have been running into trouble against the Dutch Defense . I noticed there was a or is a weakness in the Defense or maybe just the player and how he uses the defense.

I don't know if it is the light squares on black side?

The weakness of a Kingside attack? maybe someone can help me...

This week i played against a player that uses the Dutch defense in a 20 min game using some ideas of the Hopton attack against the Dutch and me trying to attack...  I ended up in this game... Hope someone helps me develope a stronger attack or see any weakness..

If you're going to be aggressive in the beggining, do it well: instead of 7. Qd1, you should have played Qf3, so that if black castles: 7. Qf3 0-0?? 8. Qd5+!

I'm no expert on the Dutch, but I suggest not to attempt an attack on black's king until later.

Here's how the opening should be in my opinion. This is against the Classical Dutch. I'm pretty sure this isn't how white normally responds, but to me it seems like a good response.

The things is am using the Hopton attack with 2. Bg5 ... and the bishop at g2 to apply some pressure on e4 and protection against king side....

Putting the bishop on g2 is perfectly fine. I wouldn't play Hopton though...

Why? Is it a weak attack?

I don't know about the other moves, but 7.Qh6 looks like an improvement to me as it prevents k-side castling (at least for now) and threatens Qg7.

I think 2.Bg5 is ok, but not more than that. You don't see top players play it (I think? don't follow the Dutch much), so perhaps something is wrong with it. I do think it's quite hard to play right.

In your game, I think 6.Qh5+ / 7.Qd1 is a waste of two precious moves; his ...g6 isn't a weakness worth two tempi, especially since you don't have a black squared bishop anymore.

for figure #7

nf6 or a bishop move is required,xh4 is mate by qh5..

7 . Qd1 for a latter possible c3 then Qb3...to put some pressure on the kingside or not allow black to think of Kingside castling...

Not allowing the Black side to castle on the kingside is what am looking for and if i can make the Kingside pawns weak ... The Dutch defense has no fight .... With the Hopton Attack Black usually castles on the Queenside of the board...

7.Qd1 isn't a bad move, but 7.Qh6 is much better (I think). Could continue 7...Qe7 8.Nd2 Nc6 9.b4 Bb6 10.a4 a6 or something similar.

This game it ended in a draw and Kasparov was on the White side of the Hopton attack...

In this game Black won against the attack.....Interesting he castled on the Kingside...
