My best opening

DaBear

I'm sorry to say this, and I'm glad that you have found a "trap" which you probably can use against some opponents, but this is completely useless. Presuming black (I hope you play white ;)) will play this is so unlikely that you shouldn't even concider this move order.

laconian

...even I wouldn't use that black opening. Granted, it's a nifty way to trap the queen, but the opponent would have to play right into your hands to make this happen.

ExKirby

Well, ppl I have played against fell for it-whether they are good or not I don't know. There IS a way out that isn't taking the bishop though-work it out.

sstteevveenn

4...Be7.  If black had made better moves that didn't interfere with your plan, like developed some pieces then he would actually be in the better position after Be7.

sstteevveenn

well Nf6 would fall for a trap with e5 becuase the knight is pinned.

ExKirby

Yeah it's not perfect but it's "Fool"-proof- as in fools will fall for itLaughing

You should never make a move on the expectation that your opponet will make the wrong move in response

-------

Black's not going to play a6, even with minimal knowledge of the french defense they should know to play d5 against d3

Even with black making such bizarre moves this still doesn't work ; Be7

neb-c

2.d3 is bad as it blocks your bishop.

neb-c

and it also doesn't do much, other player moves his pawn up and also the other player wouldn't do h5.

d3 is a weaker response to d6 than d4, but it is a viable line of the french defense

Look I made this forum for people to share their best starters not to make fun of mine. Beside, I tried to make somthing up, so don't I get credit?

well, exkirby, I have to admit, you are right on the first part of the above statement, but wrong on the second and last parts, in my opinion.  few of the beginner kids I coach would fail to block with a pawn or knight or bishop in that position.   even the lowest level beginners wouldn't go for that and lose their queen.   maybe someone who doesn't know the value of pieces might fall into that and let go of their queen, but then the debate would be on whether that person was a "chess player" or just another person who thinks they know some chess.

masteryoda

cant black just play the f pawn to block the bishop???

I ,to be quite frank with you think this opening is pure garbage. Yes this opening does what it says its going to do. However you have a multitude of other pieces to deal with for example. Pawn, knight and of course the bishop King's Side. My reccpmendation use this opening on 5 years olds and not semi/competitive level chess play.

Please stop being yoda and start posting starts!

Zerrogi

Unfortunately, even some of the beginner players I used to help out and play with would not even fall for this.  Sorry to burst your best opening.

Alright ExKirby, how about this opening trap
