Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good book for the Queens Gambit Opening?

Thank you in anticipation of any advice.

Lars Schandorff: Playing the Queen's Gambit, Quality Chess. He explains the ideas really well, has a god selection of variations and lots of commentated games, where you can se the result of the openings.

Yes the book is unfortunately sold out. But Quality Chess sells a digital version: https://www.qualitychess.co.uk/products/1/150/playing_1d4_-_the_queens_gambit_by_lars_schandorff/

If you don't want it digital maybe this could be interesting: https://www.qualitychess.co.uk/products/1/274/grandmaster_repertoire_1b_-_the_queens_gambit_by_boris_avrukh/

Accepted, Declined, Semi-Slav...that's a big book

I have some old Sadler books, Everyman might have some newer stuff but not sure how in depth your looking to go

I know its not a technically a book...but Gary Kasparov's DVD on the Queens Gambit is a pretty good overview and also quite entertaining. It mostly just covers the QGD though.

Just go to a data base and look up grandmaster games with it. Play through the games. Costs nothing and brings more.
