As i understand... colle zukertort is much higher respect... colle kat is regarded as very passive, playable but... CZ is often compare to london system. Solid, reliable, a little boring.
bought dvd on colle koltanowski by simon williams. did i get cheated or am i wrong?
yeah CZ is more respected but the point is that i bought a dvd on the koltanowski but its all about the colle zukertort. it would be like buying a book on the french defence and the first page say "oh dont play e6 thats not good" and the rest of the book sicilian

I’d be irritated. The title of the DVD is The Colle-Koltanowski System. It’s probably a better DVD than if it really was about the Colle-Koltanowsky System, but I’d still be irritated.
i did write a mail to chessbase explaining this isn what i bought a dvd on so hopefully it was an honest mistake and they refund the money. the dvd is named koltanowski, there is no picture of the position or moves listed that would tell you it isnt. in the commercial video at the site at some point it says that its the zukertort but why should i need to watch a video over 10 minuts commercial of the dvd before buying it
in the description it says "The Colle-Koltanowski system (playing d4, Nf3, e3, Bd3 and eventually b3) is very easy to learn" so i can see why someone would say that i shouldnt expect the the "eventually at some point b3" was a part of a 5.c3 colle but for us colle players using the words koltanowski and zukertort is exactly how we tell apart the 5.b3 and 5.c3 systems the koltanowski is 5.c3 and have always been. calling the zukertort koltanowski is a big deal
Simon Williams said that Chessbase mislabeled it. They should give you your money back and change the title.

so i just bought simon williams dvd on the colle koltanowski which i always have thought was the colle with c3. i start up the dvd but like 2 minuts into the first video he pretty much says " dont play c3 it will give you nothing" and uses the rest of the dvd on the colle zukertort which is with b3 instead of c3. am i wrong? i have no intention to play the colle with b3
Poor Simon can't catch a break

I feel as if most strong players don't know the difference in the terminology, largely because spending time analyzing such harmless openings generally isn't worth the effort. If he said in the description that he intended to recommend b3 setups then that's what he's doing.
