If white has play 1.e4 it's the Caro Kann , if 1.d4 then after 1...c6 2.c4 d5 it's the Slav defense. There are many strategic concepts in both cases. You need to find informations reading books and observing master game to understand the details. Good luck.

Does anyone know the name of the opening where Black starts with c6 and follows up with d5, and how White should play against it? Should i just keep on cementing my hold over the senter or are there any better tacktics?
