You guys really need to pay more attention. Here's the real French Defense:
1. e4 Black Resigns 1-0
The exchange variation is easy: play c5 if white doesn't play c4, and play against d4 if White does play c4. Either way, Black's position is easy to play. You really should not castle long... It's too dangerous. Against the Advance, things are a bit more complicated...
And the King's Indian Attack! (my personal favorite line against the French)

Well, in the main line...not really (which is why I like it )
I must say that line against the exchange variation looks a bit dodgy. If you're looking to O-O-O, it's probably safer to put the pawn on c6 and that knight on d7, but if White plays a quick c4 even that may not be possible. Absolute safest is just O-O and putting the knight on f6, bishop on d6.
