Classical Sicilian: Velimirovic vs Richter-Rauzer

I'm curious as to why the Richter-Rauzer is much more popular than the Velimirovic attack at the GM level.

 
 
Both seem very playable, offering chances for both sides, but yet the Rauzer is the choice for most GM's, why is that?
