Thanks for your comments. Obviously, I misnumbered the moves, but you got the idea. There are a lot of transpositions to this position. It also can transpose into a number of other positions. However, this position, itself, doesn't seem to have any shorthand name for itself. It just seemed to me to be an awfully common early formation in the English (among other possible openings) not to have a name.
There is a very common English Opening formation that can be reached from a lot of different English defenses. One way of getting there is 1. c4 Nf6 2. Nc3 e6 4. Nf3 c5. It often is followed by 5. g3. However, I have not been able to find any name identifying this position (either with or without 5 g3). That seems surprising, given how many ways that formation can develop. Does anyone know the common name for this variation?
