Don't laugh! I KNOW you are thinking of the animal. But today I will show you how to do the cow opening. So you move your d2 and e2 pawns forward to d3 and e3. This makes a hole. Next you put your kights in the hole and stick em out. The best part: does not matter how your opponents pieces move! unless your opponent moves their pawn to d4 or e4 then it is best not to do the Cow opening. See! easy pesy!
