Dangerous gambit stemming from the Bird's opening

Sacrificing two pawns for a raging attack, very underrated gambit.

Yes, I know this is the Langheld gambit.

Any thoughts?

I’ve never seen this before. It does look dangerous, I will say!

Maybe 5. Nf3 and 6. e3 will be sufficient cover. Though I would not advise holding the h-pawn after ...Bd6 and ...Ng5.

7. Bb5+ followed by 8. Qe2 or trading looks to be an okay continuation.

if Black would always play like this I would play 1. f4 every time. Two pawns are two pawns

It depends, what about the danish gambit, you are sacrificing two pawns in that opening, granted im not sure how good this one is compared to the danish

I remember wasting a lot of time looking at it at home.

Thank you for posting this! I didn't look at it in much depth, but this really explains how the gambit works.

thanks for posting the main variations of this gambit. i like playing it against the KG, many white players are unprepared facing this

Half of what you see there is just stuff I randomly came up with on the spot 😁

I think it’s still reasonable, I kept deleting variations and stuff.

That’s incredible

the name of the gambit is From's gambit. Black offers first the pawn e5, then the pawn d6, then takes by Bxd6 and white should be prepared for a dangerous attack. The good news is: By correct play it is beneficial to white. (Or at least so I've heard.) These lines occur so rarely that most players don't bother to learn them...

Look fantastic for blitz

This is amazing for blitz 1/2

Care to mention your sources?

As far as I know, both (1.f4 e5 2.fxe5 d6 3.exd6 Bxd6 4.Nf3) 4...Nf6 as well as 4...g5 are quite OK for the second player.

I've looked at the computer analysis, it gives black a slight edge, but it takes precise play to somewhat refute some of white's possible attacks.
