Though my many adventures in openings. I have decided to use the english opening and dragon defense as my main weapons as white ( english) and black (dragon). I understand there is a ton of theory on the dragon. My question is how does black handle the yugoslav attack. To my knowledge this is whites best way of handling the dragon. Also, how does black handle the marociy blind?

If you play the normal Dragon then you don't have to worry about the Maroczy Bind, that is used against the Accelerated Dragon. The Accelerated is rather different. How to handle the Yugoslav Attack... well by buying a book and reading it carefully.

On the opposite side of the fence from Atos, if you play the accelerated Dragon, you don't have to worry about the Yugoslav (it cannot be played against the accelerated move order). How to handle the Maroczy... well, by buying a book and reading it carefully.

So it's really a choice of which you'd like to face and either one will take some work. I personally think the Yugoslav is easier for white to learn than the Maroczy. So I prefer not to play against it.

The best friend I've found in my years of using the dragon is Soltis's defensive idea of ...h5 after white has played g4 and h4.  White can still get through, but it takes him several more moves to do so and gives black more time for his counterattack.  I've seen white players, seeing that their attack is slowed, fall into the psychological trap of playing defensively afterward, which is a death sentence against the Dragon.  I think it is easy for the white player to think "It's going to take a while longer to get through to black's king, so I'll stabilize my queenside defenses before busting through..."  This is a psychological victory for black.  But even if white continues his attack at top speed, it will take him longer to get through.

This is in the Yugoslav attack, of course.  I've never found any other variation to cause black any danger.
