When i pplay black against my bro, he likes to use the queens pawn a lot to set up the queen's gambit. I usually go with the Kings indian, and it seems to work out nicley, but Id like to switch it up a little. Ive been recently trying to adopt the Nimzo indian. so whats your favorite and what is actually statistacally the best as black?

Lets see, I like to play the Noteboom Slav when I'm given the opportunity (or the opportunity to transpose into it). It gives black a pawn advantage. I first learned about it when I saw a book on it in my dad's full bookshelf of chess books (it was in the bottom corner) and my dad was surprised when I played it against him. I won that game on time, just before he checkmated me.

"Statistically best" is probably a blunt tool since you have no clue what that underlying data looks like. What seems to be a difference in results could perhaps be explained by the number of GMs playing the different lines.

Also, I think that the best approach is to play something you like and hopefully understand. The Fun Factor is important.

I like the semi-slav but it can get really complicated.

I open with Queen's Pawn quite a bit, and when someone plays the Albin Countergambit it usually catches me off-guard, as I only see it in maybe 10% of the games.  I have started using it occasionally as black and can lead to some interesting games.
