I'm not sure I understand your question, JimSardonic. 8. Nc3 does develop a piece — the knight. Better yet, white is now threatening to get his sac'd knight back, as the move adds another attacker to black's pinned knight. 8. Bxd5+ is a mistake because it trades off a strong piece and releases the pressure on black.
