My favorite queens gambit book is by Polugayevsky : Quuens Gambit, Orthodox Defence , but as the name implies it only covers the orthodox defences to the QG.
Good Book on the Queen's Gambit?
Sadler has an excellent trio on these openings:
1. Slav
2. Semi-slav
3. Orthodox
Of course, that is 3 books rather than one...but that is what you get for playing 2.c4 instead of an opening that has fewer lines.

Play the Catalan by Nigel Davies is going to be realeased soon. You could cut down on the number of openings you need to cover by adopting the Catalan.
1 d4 d5 2 c4 e6 3 Nf3 Nf6 4 g3 and the QGD becomes a Catalan
1 d4 Nf6 2 c4 e6 3 g3 avoids Queen's Indian and Nimzo-Indian
Zukertort is right about Sadler's excellent trio.
How about 1d4, Nf6 2.c4, g6 3.g3 does that work?
And finally what about a Slav/Semi-Slav setup?
1.d4, d5 2.c4, c6 3. Nf3, Nf6 4. then I guess g3 still works...hmmm...maybe i will wait.

Yes 1 d4 Nf6 2 c4 g6 3 g3 works (although this will not be covered in Davies' book). Against the Slav Defences g3 is not a mainline. You can play g3 if it is your universal system but the main lines involve stuff like e2-e3 and attention to the c4 square.

If you want to play QG as white (rather than Catalan), there are two good books available :
- Sadler's Queens' Gambit Declined, which is excellent for instruction and understanding (it has received the ECF Book of the Year award)
- Lars Shandorff's Quality Chess book, which outlines a very strong repertoire based on the Modern Exchange (the line featured is Cox's repertoire)

1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 g6 3. g3 ... is going to get you probably into the Kings Indian Defense, Classical Fianchetto /Panno E62 or a Grunfeld. If you want to avoid the KID you almost have to avoid 1. d4... the closest avoidance 2. Bg5 Tromp even has potential to transpose to KID type positions.
I wouldn't play 3. g3 against the Slav for the same reason the KIA is not so good against the Caro-Kann. The fianchetto Bishop is biting granit on the d5, c6, b7 pawn chain. You might break through but there are better ways to proceed.
I am looking to learning playing 1.d4 followed by 2.c4. I already have Starting Out: 1d4! But I was looking for a book on just the Queen's Gambit and another on how to handle the Indian Defenses, or perhaps a book that gives a complete repertoire. Play 1d4! by Palliser is out of print and selling for 80+ for used copies, so that's not an option.
I am aware of the starting out books, but is there another book or dvd that I am not aware of? Any help would be appreciated.
