How to do your OWN research:
Try this - go to http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chess.pl?page=200&eco=C50
... and start paging backwards through the list. That's the little back-arrow button next to the "Download PGN" button. One of the columns in the list is "Event", which will tell you if the game was played in an important tournament. Clicking on a player's name will tell you if they are a GM.
