Well, im having trouble picking an opening against e4...

i have crossed out the following.. -

- e5 (philidor, ruy lopez)

- french

- caro kann

- alekhines

- sicilian

- petrov

- Scandinavan (center counter)

- Nimzovich defense

- Owens defense

- Pirc defense

- Latvian Gambit

But idk, im not interesting in most variations for all of this, but maybe there are some interesting variations or other openings for me to look at..

Help! idk what to do against e4, these are all not my type of playing style against e4.

UPDATED:

After looking at g6 for 30 minutes, i have decided that im gonna use that opening, it is very interesting an definately fits my playing style, thanks for the help guys!

Try Pirc 1.e4 d6 or 1.e4 g6

Try Center Counter 1.e4 d5 2.exd5 Qxd5 or 2...Nf6

Try Nimzovich Defense 1.e4 Nc6 2.d4 e5 or 2...d5

Try Owen's Defense 1.e4 b6 and 2...Bb6

Try Latvian Gambit 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 f5.

Yeah man, Try Latvian Gambit

If you don't mind the slight space crush, the Modern (... g6) is fine.

It's also a defense that can be used for e4/d4/c4, so it can be a repertoire in itself.

I will take a look at those, see if any suit me (definately not center counter)

List updated!

I will look at latvian gambit and ... g6

hmmm i think if you dont like sicilian or french (which is insane to me) you should in fact do the pirc. i was recently crushed by the pirc at a tourny and have studied it a bit since it gives you a solid defense and also lines up the g7-a3 diagnal.

If you don't mind getting a worse position out of the opening and often a pawn down for nothing, try the latvian gambit.
