what so boring in e5?

you have a lot of interesting variations here...

southpawsam

I play two defenses to 1.e4.

The Nimzowi

tsch Defense...

And the Qe6+ Center Counter (Scandinavian)...

Plus, a good defense to is the Winawer French

Especially the sideline dxe4 (You should find it in MCO)

But a note, if you don't like boring games, this opening

is not for you. White can play the Exchange Variation.

So out of these three, I would pick the Scandinavian.

I wrote all of my own analysis on these three openings.  So

if you need any tips on them, leave me a note.

first, I play sicilian against 1.e4 its good because you open the c file..but  i just feel uncomfortable with that because I am not really a positional player and I hate boring games..so I play the french but it give me the same thing, its more solid and its so boring..then my chess coach teach us about the caro-kann and its kinda interesting, it has a solid defence if you use it right..but yet again i feel so bored with it..so I decide to play 1.e5 against 1.e4..and im ticking with it now because it is exiting to play most of all if your opponent plays the ruy lopez...if i were you i would study all of those and decide what you really want...

I play the caro-kann but it's best to play an opening you are comfortable with

It is difficult to give recommendations without knowing more about your tastes and strengths. Definitely though I would not recommend the French which usually leads to dull, blocked positions. The Sicilian is of course good but you really need to know your theoretical stuff. So perhaps you could try the Pirc, which gives you an interesting game with winning chances and you don't need to learn as much theory as in the Sicilian.

I've fallen in love with the Sicilian Najdorf and Schevenigen.  So much exciting play on both sides, so much theory.  You could study it for years and not know everything.

Hmmm...I'll bet the Sicilian is best. It provides sharp attacks and a great fight for the center (with 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 - usually white gets the center first, but black can try and wrestle for it.). Try the Petrov too. If they don't see the trap, they're going to lose their maiden queen. But of course, most of us know that trap, but it will still lead to an exciting game.

The Sicilian it is, a fighting game deep with tons and tons of ideas.

Just gonna reach a little bit higher rating (read: Understanding of the game) before I jump into the deep end and start learning it.

french defence has sharp lines, quiet manuvering lines, and some lines in between. The poisoned pawn variation gets pretty crazy

there's the classical variation
the steinitz
the advance
the exchange(the exchange basically gives up white's whole advantage)
the steiner variation etc...

A master once told me: "Don't try any new openings until you are at least 1600 (Real Rating). You'll get too confused if you try to learn all of them. Kasparov spent his entire life learning one opening- the Najdorf Sicilian." I followed his advice, and I am playing 1.d4 as white, the sicilian as black against 1.e4, the KID against 1.d4, the Anglo-Indian against 1.c4, and 1...Nfe against 1.Nf3. (I have a 72% win rate and 12% loss rate plaing Wite Queen's Gambit, so I'm happy. I also have a 70% wi rate playing black KID, so I am happy to stay with just one opening.

Why the caps?

Given your rating I would say the french or the sicilian. A lot of people will tell you to play the Najdorf or Dragon variation of the sicilian for various reasons, I assume mainly because grand masters put up great games with them. The problem with them is they can get very tactical and hard to play, if you were to face say the poisoned pawn and you didnt understand the theory you could easily find yourself in an unpleasent situation, and the dragon in general is very tricky, but if you put in the work to understand it and you are a very tactical player then by all means use it, because it has been proven to produce very exciting games; however, I would recommend the Scheveningen variation which is often very positional, but in my opinion the Scheveningen and Classical variations are much easier to learn and require less deep theory understanding to use effectively.
