I hate the Scandinavian Defense

I really hate playing against the scandinavian defense. I'm really bad playing against it and it isn't any fun. Do you guys have any recommendations for moves which aren't common after 1. e4, d5?

I want my opponent not to play a line, which he has played dozens and dozens of times.

Just take 2 exd5, you get an easy game as white.

The obvious answer is playing 2.d4, transposing into the Blackmar-diemer gambit which is fun, sound, surprising and really active; but there is an even better way to face it. Enter the scandi, and crush them in every variation. Exd5; if they play Nf6, give them the pawn back with d4 and attack the knight with c4 after they recapture. If they take with the queen, this is where the fun begins. Attack it with the knight. They have three sound ways to retreat. If 3. Qa5, the main line, play g4, the Leonhardt gambit, which sacrifices the useless pawn to attack the queen two times and develop the rook. The best square for the queen to retreat is d6, and you can continue with your anti-Qd6 strategy. If 3.Qd6, try to setup in a way that prepares Bf4(which will attack their queen). Either via Ne2, or g3. If 3.Qd8, just play d4 and enjoy a space advantage. Any other queen moves are unsound, queen checks also. Good luck crushing scandis

The only good game comes from exd5. I have looked into openings with the engine and data base. You just have to play it and learn the opening. I to have a bad record against it and face it infrequently (blundered a few advantageous positions). If you play e5 you get a worse version of the French when they play d4. So absolutely nothing is good other than exd4. The gambit line you are also worse as well.

Closed scandi, blackmar-diemer and tenisson(when played as a reversed budapest, not ICBM) are good, exd5 is not the only optiob

Both are still gambit lines so are riskier than main line.

tennison is TRASH! I played it myself for about a month way back when

gedult BDG kicks butt!

others have better luck with the 3.Nc3 BDG proper, but I do badly in most Nc3/Nc6 before Nf3/Nf6 lines for some reason.
