No offense but you shouldn't have a set, content style due to having one thing in mind.
I hate white

Understandable, since black usually gets to choose the opening of the game, which can have a large psychological advantage at low level.
I felt the same for a long time. Infact I have won all but one of my OTB tournament games with the black pieces and only won two with white.
However, this was when i was forcing myself to play the theoretically good lines, which i wasnt all too comfortable with, now i feel just as comfortable with either.
Neither side is exactly safer. You can play in a defensive style for either side. Having the first move only gives you a very slight advantage. Hardly enough to be exploited by humans.
It's not as if there is a specific philosophy for black. White could also play a closed game.

Chess4001. It'snot a set styleso to speak, its more a style that suits me that I find enjoyable regardless of the outcome. Win or loss. If I wanted pure wins, I would excersize book openings and continue from there. I like the abstract lol. Even though it never works at my level =p
I have looked into a few openings for both and I find i tend to disregard them all. I tend to enjoy black because as soon as white makes a move I make, what I feel, is a naturally more aggressive and or counter aggressive move.
I find when I play white, even with the first couple book move openings they just arent what I want to play. As white I find myself winging the beginning to get myself to a point I somewhat recognise as black.
I dunno lol, I don't have the experience to say whats right or wrong but I find black has the immediate tempo of direction by giving up the first move.

Estrogen, I understand wat you are saying and am still learning to incorporate what you suggested into my game. BUT, At the end of the day to be successful you have to be comfortable with both colors, do you not? Do highlevel players such as yourself have a preference?
In any case, I find myself developing white as if I was black. Still hate white eh lol.

Huh??? How does that work? (black gets to choose the opening?) It doesn't work for me at all, and/but I am a sub-zero player!

I may not be experienced but I find their opening gives me flexibility and a sense of control. Even if they have a plan I have the first hand ability to stop it immediatly. Playing first there is nothing to stop, ergo you must force. But, I am also sub 1200 so who knows man. I am keen on here back from Estragon and others.

Better record playing white in blitz? Or better record playing white in any control? Thx for posting in any case.

Because black has a large choice of moves after whites first 1.e4 or 1.d4 he will often get to choose the opening. For example, white play 1.e4 now black can choose ..c6 caro kann, ..e6 french ..c5 sicilian ..d5 scandinavian ..nf6 alekhine etc. Now white is the one that will often choose the style of the game, in other words the variation.
It should be easy to lose a move, although I dont recommend it. For example, 1.e3! e5 2.e4!! and you are Black.
I hate playing white. I am much more comfortable playing black. For what I feel is my style, I enjoy letting my opponent move then react accordingly. Thats also how I deal with castling. I make random/and or calculated moves until they castle then I know which way to direct my attack.
You can play inverse chess openings where you lose a move and essentially play like you
are playing Black from the White side. An example could be:
1.e3 e5 2.e4 and now you are playing the Black side.
I wrote an article on Inverse Chess Openings at Chessville.

In that last paragraph Estrogan,. it does differ. I could be a phenom and then have my pick between poker tables choose to pick the 47. 53 is just as reasonable. And as you said, one bad move and black is even in tempo.
My question now is, as a beginner, is if white plays correctly is white inherently guarenteed a win if not at least a draw. In my head the closest "thing" to solving chess is current grandmaster play. They incorporate past learning experience with modern tools. \
But I still feel going second gives you the control of play.
But I still feel going second gives you the control of play.
You may be right, some future grandmaster may discover that the game starts in zugzwang and since White moves first, he will lose.
But today, this is not the opinion. Today's experts say Black starts with a disadvantage and has to play well in the opening even to "equalize".

And yes, I know, before everyone points it out lol, I AM a sub 1200 player eh.
