So. I've decided to learn some real chess. In the process I heard that after 1. d4 that the important square is e4.
Its the same with the sicilian. The important square there is d4. Right?
So first of all. Why?
I don't think you can say after only one move which will be "the important square". It's too early and usually there'll be more than just one.
And second. How can one decide the important square? And really how important is it to control it?
Just by using your skill to analyze the position. There's no magic formula.
