I thought king's indian goes with 4... d6 but maybe i'm wrong. This is what MAY happen, do you find any improvements?
Is Kings Indian Defense the best one for D4
Thanks for the stats tiger prowl..surprising that KID which is black's most aggressive defence fighting to wrest the initiave from White fairs only about 39% :(.. Was thinking of switching to it from my Benko but alas!..

Ugh I can't count the number of times someone's had to address this on these forums...you can't play the QID as a stand-alone defense to 1 d4, you have to pair it with the Nimzo.

There are many problems with the first post:
1) As mentioned in post 2, 4...d6 is right, not 4...e6, significantly weakening the dark squares.
2) The Four Pawns Attack is NOT the second most popular line. The top 3 are the Classical (and all of its sub-variations, like the Petrosian, Gligoric, Mar Del Plata, etc), Saemisch, and Fianchetto. The Four Pawns Attack is a rare subvariation now-a-days, mainly because Black has figured out how to completely equalize. It's popularity is no more than that of the Averbakh Variation or Nge2 lines.

Precisely, ThrillerFan. Anyway, the question is completely worthless as it is all a matter of taste (I am a KID player myself).

I've played it off and on in the past, but I prefer to play either 1...d5 (Tartakower, Lasker, Tarrasch, or Slav) or the Stonewall/Classical Dutch (i.e. lines with 3...e6, NOT the Leningrad). Not bashing the King's Indian. Just not my cup of tea.

Cose this is my favourite opening what do u think about it
This are the two most played variations The main one and the four pawn attack( the first
Can't black play 5... Nh5 instead?

A matter of taste and experience. If you enjoy playing it, you study up on it, and you play it enough to get experienced at it, it's a perfectly acceptable defense. Many top masters have played it.

I personally prefer the KID than any other responses to the d4.But i also play the grunfeld occasionally.

This is my favorite KID game(yet, I haven't seen them all of course lol)
