Is the Scotch Opening a good opening?

Played by top players but of course very bad...
Apparently Kasparov and Stockfish are patzers for considering the Scotch Game good. That's also like saying screens in Basketball are a bad strategy, yet they are used at top levels (I have no clue what a screen in Basketball actually is, I just know it's a thing).

Yes, Scotch opening is good at all levels. It might be the best after Ruy Lopez. Italian opening and Evans Gambit are also equally good. If you are under 2000 ELO you can try scotch gambit which is even more effective!
I've been taking up the Scotch Gambit in blitz! I must say, you did show a disliking to the Scotch on my thread... (confusion)

While someone should definitely not be labelled as thick just because he fails to spot the apparent irony in someone's post, I can make an exception for your majesty, if you wish so...
Lol definitely irony

Why do you ridicule me any chance you get Pfren? You say I don't see things, but is that true?
My moment of wisdom (and the answer to my rhetorical question):
No. I either see more, see less, or, maybe, just maybe, I see differently.

You can't really trust anything Scotch.
I trust Scotch game, Scotch gambit, and a nice drink of Scotch once in a while.

Every established opening is a good opening, but it is only good for YOU if it leads to a middlegame you are comfortable playing. As you and your opponent begin to complete piece development, you need to think about a plan. Do you like to castle on the opposite side from your opponent and storm him with your pawns? Then openings that favor such a thing, like the Vienna Game or Bishop's Opening are good for you. But they are bad for you if you prefer to play from closed positions where you dare your opponent to try to break through your defenses while you maneuver to begin attacking him.
