I would like many opinions on whether the KID is effective against the English,d4, and Nf3. thx ahead of time.

I like playing the KID against a d4 opening; c4 would probably transpose well too. I know as white I'm always happiest seeing QGA since that position seems for me to be the easiest to exploit in my favor. Something I've been interested in the KID lately is moving Na6 first to support c5.

My son William spent all night trying to work out an answer then logged in to see KID means Kings Indian Defence! 8~)

The KID against the English works reasonablely well. It transposes sometimes if White plays d4, but usually on the amateur level many will play d3. I usually will play the Botvinnik English against the KID and I do fine, but the games can become rather complex.
