I just need someone point me at a right direction of any publication regarding king's gambit, white castle queen side.

Before someone does, I'd just like to remind you that the reason White usually castles Kingside is to take advantage of the fact that the Rook is on a half-open file directed at Black's soft spot. I'm saying generally because many KG attacking set-ups are directed at f7. Black may deviate somewhere...

Remember that some players may play Qh4+ if white plays the bishop gambit (Bc4) instead of the main line Nf3.

I agree with what pinkerton says. One of the points of the King's Gambit is to bombard f7. Kingside castling does that. The King is quite happy there, and Black finds it difficult to attack. Even the Cunningham defense (1. e4 e5  2. f4 Be7 followed by Bh4+) doesn't necessarily give White problems

Thanks for the reply, I do realize that the point of king's gambit is to open up the rook file and attack. However, I've seen couple of games that white castle queen side and play a positional game. In a standard game, it is probably a bad idea, because the lost pawn gained nothing really. In a blitz game, it is rather unconventional so white may gain some time advantage. I would like to know if this was actually studied, or just certain kind of play only try to gain time advantage by playing something complete wrong.

It's an unsound opening. Only useful to those who play blitz and want to gain some time advantage. Not much good in normal chess.

It really depends on how well you can play it, my best friend who is a 1800 FIDE loves it (quite obsessed with it actually), and knows many of its variations, if you only know 2 main lines you probably will not be too good against someone who knows how to properly decline the gambit, but if you are comfortable with it, sky is the limit.

Interesting...I have a really good game going right now with a K's gambit and Q side castle and I was wondering whether there were any discussions on it.  I google'd the topic and it turned up this forum!  I'll post the game when it is concluded...

As far as the soundness of the opening...perhap's that is true of GM play but I'm a decent player and I was beaten consistently by a fellow on chess.ac using Fischer's defense.  I always seemed to make it to end game a tempo or 2 behind...  Perhap's I am not as good as I think or my opponent was just that much better...
