knight openings

Rybka likes that opening. To tell you the truth it isn't as great as people make it seem. That last move just really sucked. Knight against knight. But yah try it.

When I was young, a strong player told me to always begin 1.Nf3 and 2.Nc3, because then I wouldn't be wiped off the board in ten moves. And he was right, I did tend to survive a little longer. But I think this opening is not too ambitious. Maybe Black can try 1.Nf3 d5 and if 2.Nc3 then 2...d4 3.Nb5 c5 now it's White who's fighting for equality.

I believe if White did not hold the center on his first move, then Black should try to occupy it. So I'm in aggreement with likesforests, after 1. Nf3, Black should play 1. ... d5 instead of 1. ... d6. d6 is too passive as a response to Nf6. Maybe White is not too keen to play Nc3 after 1. ... d5.
Another possible response is 1. ... c5, and possibly will continue to a line in the Sicilian.
About 99 percent of the time I play against the computer here on chess.com, the computer moves its two knights out on its first two moves, like so:
You can see how this limits me to move pieces to the center of the board(if I'm black). Does anyone recommend this strategy? Please give me your opinion.
