I got a question for you: why a developing move has so crushingly bad statistics? What's the problem about this move? I understand that it's not a logical way of developing the light-square bishop and it loses a tempo. But Black is always a tempo down at the beginning of the game and their statistics are better. So there must be something else I suppose?

Man, I don't get a single thing in the game one. What's black doing there? What are these odd knight moves? As for the other one: why was a draw agreed?

EternalChess

it looks like in this opening whites bishop is trapped, which is why it has bad statistics

Seriosity

I like the idea behind it. Statistics aren't everything.

never enough of chess knowledge :) as far as tempo is concerned the things are obvious: this move loses it. Of course it is a bad move, meaning there are some much better. But what I ask is why it is SO bad. Your list is great thanks. I understand a bit more now. As for the 2.: even such a good opening as KID (with black) involve a fianchettoed bishop blocked by an e-pawn, so there must be some context to it I suppose?

The only time I play g3 in the opening -- does this lose a tempo?
