I am looking to buy a book on how to play against the stonewall system. Any suggestions?

The best way to learn how to play against the Stonewall defense, is to learn the Stonewall formation.

It might be helpful to look at Grandmaster Repertoire 11: Beating 1 d4 Sidelines by Boris Avrukh (2012).

From the white side or black side?

By "stonewall system", I assumed that zugzwangutan meant something that White might try. Based on that possibly mistaken assumption, I suggested something to possibly help Black decide how to react. Another such book (somewhat older) is Dealing with d4 Deviations by John Cox (2005).

There are quite a few books that might help White play against the Stonewall Dutch, but, if that is what zugzwangutan wants, it would be difficult to help him make a good choice without knowing more about how he likes to play after 1 d4.

Read the various suggestions on the black side in this forum post then:

I believe that there is some advice for Black in Taming Wild Chess Openings by John Watson & Eric Schiller.
