1. e4 e5 2. Sf3 Sc6 3. Bb5 - The Spanish Opening

I want to play a few games against players that play this opening with black (live blitz), and you can chose whatever line you want after that! Only requirement is that you are rated above 1400 in blitz. (I am rated about 2100).

All you need to do is to add me as a friend and post in this post and we will play. (unrated)

I fell into this trap! I know very little theory! But I am learning quickly. So please give me your trickiest lines, if you want to!

There are also these types of games! Please, anyone! These games are only to bump the post..

I suggest meeting 3. ... Bc5 with Nxe5, grabbing the lion's share of the centre.

If you asked me this 2 years ago (or even a year ago maybe), I'd totally be up for it. At least for a Berlin as black.

Yes I saw that Capablanca game when I went through the game explorer, and decided that I did not want to play the Marshall with white, and rather play d3 before c3 in that line.

You might want to join the Ruy Lopez Practice Group:

Yes, thank you. I joined that group.

The reason why I need some people to play against is because everytime I try to play e4 in a rated game they always play c5 or c6. It is annoying.
Anyone want to play Berlin, or some other line? I want to play

Interesting. At low level, 95% of the answers seem to be ...e5 or ...d5

As an e4 player myself, 1...e5 for me at least is the second most common response I see (behind 1...c5, of course).

If you are going to succeed in chess, you need to know each of the "big 4" thoroughly (...c5, ...e5, ...e6, and ...c6), and at least have some idea what to do against the more offbeat responses (...d6, ...g6, ...Nf6, ...Nc6).

A year ago, I was playing 1...e5, albeit the Petroff, not 2...Nc6, but I've settled in on the Sicilian myself, so I guess I must be one of those "annoying players!"   LOL!

No. You miss the point. I have many various openings, and I am supposed to train this opening, and play other stuff against other types of players..

Skotty....I played the RL as black yesterday against you - for your sake....I'll have you know Smile . I had never played it before - black or white. It feels sorta weird and a bit too balanced. Or kinda like watching tv w/out any color. It's definitely gonna take alotta getting used to.

If I see you out & about (as a green donut) I'll remember to have another RL venture w/ you hon....L

....and p.s. - IM pfren is kinda mouthy isn't he ?....but I luv him and his knowledge of the Spanish derivatives is encyclopaedic. He'd make a wonderful second in top play - I'd safely surmise.

Start by practicing saying, "Como Esta' ?"

That opening will get you by somewhere in Andalucia.
