Na5 instead of Nxd5 in the Fried Liver attack.

I have created a thread about all of the other variation in the "Fried Liver", except the Na5 line. So, what are white's best options? Does black usually get enough compensation for the pawn?

I know.... but what else to call the forum?

Maybe "Main Line of Two Knights Defense", which is fairly boring, but more correct than your thread name.  Besides, this is a forum THREAD, not a forum itself.

Okay, since I do not play this, I didn't know it was called the two knights. Should have asked you before I started this forum... lol

5.. Na5 is called the faggotello (fried chicken defense), not to confuse with the fegatello (fried liver attack)

Andthere I go and call it forum again <ahem> thread.

Umm...I kind of take offense to that name...you trying to say something about me?

So difficult such wow again.

Now I will give you a slight reprieve since an actual name doesn't seem to be agreed upon for that particular position.  I learned it as the Polerio Variation, but looking around it is simply the Two Knight's Defense if you click on that first link.

So I will give you this, it took me 15 seconds to arrive at that conclusion.

My chess teacher said Na5 was the only Fried Liver Attack Line and whoever came up with Nxd5 is a piece of s**t.

Well, your teacher is wrong again

nxd5 is a bad move. A very bad move. Technically if you move your king up to defend your knight after it is playable. But you better be much better than your opponent. It is also not what you want to do with your king.

Na5 is the main line. Most GM's play that line I believe. It leads to an equal position.

Nd4 is the fritz variation which I like very much.

The Traxler counter attack can make for some crazy situations. If you want to play the Traxler though, you better memorize most of the lines because if you mess them up you end up in a bad position.
