Najdorf Miniature.

Here's a good game I recently played in a thematic tournament. Annotations from both the site analysis tool and myself. Please enjoy this short, bloody affair:

Comments are appreciated.

Here's another miniature from the same tournament:

Just the site analysis, this time:

Kernicterus

So that's how it finished in game one.

Hm...puter really seems to favor this Nb1 move.

Things are pretty bad when you find a pawn at your king's throat on move 15.  Nice games, Prawn.

darnok87

12. Nd5 is actually main line, and of course it is not inaccuracy

Okay, one more miniature from the same tournament. White employs the same thematic Knight sacrifice as the above two games. This one turns real ugly, real fast:

Kernicterus

Fast and ugly, that's how I like 'em.  lol.

I didn't understand the move that was suggested on move 15.  Is that for Black or White?

Nice finish.  I love when pawns are involved.

The machine prefers 15 fxe5 instead of 15 Nf5+ (I've seen the transposition error and adjusted the diagram now, thanks).

always a dragon fan myself but thats some awesome stuff too

Not quite a miniature but certainly an exciting short game to play. The usual themes are employed, White sacrifices material to keep the Black King in the centre.

Great games- just a question, in the game vs 2035, why not on move 15- Bb7xd5 and on move 18- Be2xf6? or as usual have I missed something.  Those games show the gulf between my rating and 2100+. Thanks for sharing.

bjazz

Nice games. Miniatures are always fun to watch. In this case, especially the third one.

TheOldReb

Nice games, do you run into 10... h6  much ?

There seems to be a concrete tactical refutation of that move (it scores 0/3 in my database):

Thanks prawneatsprawn, but then most of my game analyses show rather a lot of errors.

Not very often, to be honest it's not often that I get 10 moves deep in the mainline without one side or the other varying the play. I just happened to have a glut of mainline games due to a thematic tournament getting close to the finish. I also play 10. .... b5 in the hope of getting some Queen-side counter-play. I did try 10. .... h6 in one game but it was a comedy of errors and unworthy of publication IMO. Do you have some tasty lines to show after 10. .... h6? spill the beans!
