I am the type of player that uses the modern defense through the 2...d5 move order. However I have met a new move that surprised me and I could not find a direct refutation.
1.e4 e5 2.f4 d5 3.d4!?
A third sac of a pawn! Neither side wants to give up the initiative.
I tried 3...dxe4 4.fxe5 Qh4+ 5.Ke2 and surprisingly white is holding.
What do you guys think?
