New opening: The Reversed Danish

It's a very interesting line, and me and @TonyL103 found it in an OTB blitz game.

The name says it all.

Thats the basic opening, still a bit skeptical about the mainline, so I'll have to analyze it further...

What are your thoughts, the engine hates it (expected lol) but I feel like c4 and Nc3, Qd3/Qe2, then O-O-O would be the best idea, but still, I feel like the king is a bit too exposed...

I'm gonna analyze this position thoroughly, gonna post some updates here I guess...

idk whats the point of this post, I just played this opening once, and I got back to it...

It seems hard to play for white, but quite interesting!

It seems interesting indeed, I have dabbled in the black-mar Diemar before....I haven't seen this one before, but I suspect it isn't nearly as good as the danish because the bishops are facing the queen side, which isn't optimal for attacking the king.

FMLarry

Agreed, I feel like it's much more weaker than the real danish

Best move after f3 is e5 anyways not taking. Maybe do it after Nc3 in the regular Black-Diemer Gambit?

not a lot of people know that e5 is better though, including me

DasBurner

I don't think this has as much potential as the regular Danish does as all of the pressure is on the queenside instead of the kingside, making it impossible for the sacrificed pawns to be used in a direct assault on the king

-BEES-

Firstly - White cannot play an immediate 3.f3. White HAS to play Nc3, otherwise 3...e5 gives Black a simple advantage. Pretty much everyone knows this.

Second - Seems to me like Black could just play f2+! and sidestep any shenanigans with a clean pawn and no fear on the g-file.

Third - The bishops look very pretty but they're pointing away from Black's kingside, so I'm not sure what the point is. Taking with the knight on f3 is the only strategically logical way to play the BDG. Maybe there is a really rare transposition in another opening. It almost is something in the Burn French... which would make sense because you're preempting Black from putting their bishop on the a8-h1 diagonal and opening the g-file to attack an inevitably kingside castled king, but still not quite.

PineappleBird

Engine gives almost like -0.5 for Danish accpeted... (pawn sac = worth 0.25 of a pawn)

and -2 for this...  (pawn = pawn)... I guess that's actually not bad - in some openings and gambits losing single a pawn can spell -3 or more right?

But hey, some people play the bong cloud and f3 or crab stuff first move and destroy people so this has to be better than that, right? Cool find bro!

Spoil the fun with 2...e6!!  Actually, it doesn't spoil the fun!  The French is more fun than anything else!

Looks dubious

You've weakened your own kingside, and all of your pressure is on the queenside, so black can directly attack your King(because they still have a choice of where to put their pieces) while you cannot theirs. Your setup will be pretty predictable by black.

now i see that you can't experiment with randomness in otb

We are gonna have to agree to disagree here.
