openings against queens gambit

personally, i play the qgd with e6. i usually follow up with nf6 after nc3, and play the a6 line after nf3

No-one can tell you which one to play as it's a matter of style. Both are very good openings.
King's Indian is very aggressive but risky. It's an opening that black plays for the win.
Black basically just goes all in on the kingside and plays for checkmate.
Nimzo-Indian is more positionally solid. Black wants to play for positional advantages like controlling the e4 square and doubling white's pawns with the bishop for knight trade.
Black has some other aggressive plans though like playing Ne4-f5 and launching a kingside attack.
The Nimzo-Indian is extremely flexible so offers a huge variety of structures and plans.

The Albin Countergambit is semi-respectable but not as aggressive as the King's Indian. The idea of the Albin is actually very positional in that the d4 pawn will be annoying for white in that it restrains some of their development. Nc3 can't be played for example.
I understand people who like dubious stuff enjoy this. I would say King's Indian and Nimzo are both more fun though. This is my opinion.

By the way if d5 isn't played, it's not the Queen's Gambit. The Queen's Gambit is specifically this position with d5.
The position which leads into KID and Nimzo is with Nf6 which is the Indian Game.

Whats the consensus on Queens Indian?
I think it's a good opening.
At the highest level and through engine play, it has kind of taken a beating. This is extremely technical though so it won't be apparent to us mere mortals. To be honest, I haven't got much to say on it and I could probably learn more about it.
A good alternative to consider would be to transpose into a QGD Ragozin.
Like playing this type of thing.
