Openings to Reach the Endgame Swiftly

What openings could White play to have good chances of trading down material fast, especially the queens, to reach the endgame swiftly?  Is there an opening for Black? Thank you.

Why?  I’m in a correspondence game where the endgame has been reached. Endgames make me nervous and I would like to gain more practical experience with them through Live Chess, i.e. plenty of practice in promoting pawns.

Here’s one example of  an exchange variation in the Ruy Lopez where queens are exchanged.

check out my live games history, I'm always up for a Queen-less middlegame.

Thank you. I will view your games. I'd like some new ideas. Smile

Keep them coming. I want queens off the board in the first few moves so that patzers don't try those stupid checkmating tricks right out of the opening. It takes more endgame skill to win without queens, and I want the extra practice. Smile

Please note that both games replied with 1...d6. Check out this book.

I have over 60 chess books...um...it could be 70...I need to count again. Embarassed

I dig everything that Gambit publishes. It's all high quality writing. Thank you for the suggestion, as I wish to inflict real hurt on those who hold the White pieces.

This is my latest Live Chess game where I tried to trade queens, and I had the Black pieces, but my opponent blundered. I never saw these first two moves by White before, so I improvised and played a pseudo Queen's Gambit with the Black pieces.

what about the Ruy Lopez Berlin?

LAexpress12

depends on what kind of endgame u want

"endgame is when more than 15 points of material leave the board"--me

id say this is nearing the endgame? how about you? the engines put white at

-material wise (103.0)

-position         (200.99 mate in 2)

-time              (200.99 mate in 2)

-space             (200.99) 64/64)

I enjoyed that book a lot and played the "engame opening" in many tournaments, I only stopped playing it when my opponents didnt take on e5 and so it ended up as a Philidor Defence which I am not great at playing.GM Roman recommended this opening for Black as well and thats how I started playing it.

I don't see how an exchange of a pawn for a pawn is an endgame?

Teary10

haha i also used to exchange queens as fast as i could but after reaching higher level trading queens fast feels boring
