"1. Hedgehog opening" ++ Unless you are an expert at hedgehog.
It would be the last opening I would play against Kasparov.
"2. Reserved stance, no reaction to baiting, push to exchange material pieces step by step" ++ ??
"3. Make it a pawn game" ++ ??

Well, #1 is to meet objective, 2+3 is also to support the objective - see top of the this thread...

My objective is to be the last person standing. Magnus was able to draw him when he was 13 years old (in a set of 3 standard games). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMKnV1a9dU0 . If I could draw Kasparov in simultan at age 42 that would be awesome. I should be able to apply some skills that are not available to Magnus at the age 13?

Could anyone comment if this is realistic refined objective? Have a year to prepare happy

You are not Magnus. He was GM at age 13.
1. Do you have experience with the Hedgehog? How many games have you played with it?
You have 1 year, so you can start playing Hedgehogs as black an as white, but I doubt it.
2. Exchanging material usually helps the GM: he knows so much more than you.
3. You will never get to a pawn endgame unless it is a lost pawn endgame.
'The hardest game to play, even for a GM is a sharp tactical game.' - Bronstein
That applies even more to a simul.
The GM has many boards to play and cannot spend time on 1 board.

Study some Karpov wins (or his losses from the White side of his career) from his World Championship matches and maybe that opening will appear on the board!

A friend got to play Karpov in a simul.  His prep was not to pass out and just enjoy the experience.  And he got Karpovs autograph.

Got autograph as well, next time will load up with chess boards and other chess merchandize, get him to sign everything and will start a side hustle selling Kasparov signed items on eBay happy happy happy
