Good Day. one of the books authored by a famous chess authority introduced the variation 1. d4 d5 2. c4 dxc4 3. Nf3 Nf6 4. e3 e6 5. Bxc4. What if in the fourth move, black will throw 4... b5, if you are playing white, what should be the nice stategy? to control the center? ....which is the strategic goal of the Queen's Gambit? but, the position will turn into a crampling situations for white because of the well posted black pawn on c4. The white's white bishop turned into a problem bishop. what is the strategy for this?
i do not agree with you , but perhaps Black controlled the middle for a short period but the course of the game will toppple after the 10th move try these moves ( 5. a4 Ba6 or a6 6. d5 Nb4 7. Nc3 Bb7 8. e4 e6 9. axb5 exd5 10. exd5 Nxd5 11. Bxc4 )
ahmedhamid, where did the move 6...Nb4 come from? This is the opening that attareskimgaspar28 mentions. I do agree with you though, 5. a4 is probably the best move.
