Queen's Gambit Accepted Trap


First thing that comes to mind:
Tarikhk, that's an interesting continuation, and it definitely works. 6...Bxc4 7.Qa4+ Qd7 8.Qxc4 and material is even and Black's queenside is weak. I think I never played this line because since this line usually leads to open positions, I like to have the bishop pair. White can then play for an e4 break and he should be better.
After 6...Be6 I think I would go with 7.Nf3 followed by 8.Qf3 and 9.Nc3 and then try for an e4 break. But if Black plays 7...e6, don't play Qb3 because you're not directly hitting f7. Instead, I think you should play 8. 0-0, followed by Nc3, Bd3, and try to set up your pieces for an e4 break, like a Colle. Just bear in mind that my USCF rating is only 1600, so probably only 6-7 out of the 10 things I'm saying are right.
